History Of Biology

History of biology is divided into following periods.
1. Early Period
2. Greek Period
3. Romans Period
4. Muslim Period
5.Modern Period.

1: EARLY PERIOD: Right from the begining man had knowledge about the animals and plants. He knows about the external features of plants and animals. He knows to grow plant and tend domestic animals. People of ancient Egypt and Far East know the structure of human body, its ailment and their treatment.

2: GREEK PERIOD:
First noticeable development in biology occurred during the Greek period.

3: ROMAN PERIOD: Roman followed the Greeks. In the 2nd century Roman physician Galen, worked on physiology and wrote many books.

4: MUSLIM PERIOD: From the 8th to the 15th century Muslims studied others and translated the books in to Arabic; work new books and opened numerous centres of learning. The most outstanding contribution of  Muslim scientist had been the use of experiments for the first time in scientific study.

5: MODERN PERIOD: In the 15th century in Europe many important scientific advancemant were made.
